 ==== Initial Read-Aloud (Scene Opening) ====
-You step out of the frost and into fever-warmth.
+You step out of the cold into feverish warmth.
+The hotel is a tower made of stacked shipping containers and recycled spaceship panels bolted together with exposed struts and docking clamps—a cargo tower that presents itself like a royal palace. Neon signs glow on the facade, and above the main entrance, a red sign shines with clear, elegant letters:
+LUDE · VIVE · FRUERE – Play, Live, Enjoy.
-Mirrored panels fracture your reflections into a hundred shifting silhouettes, all bathed in flowing bands of neon that crawl along the walls. Crystal chandeliers shiver overhead, catching light from the “DARK SIDE” marquee outside and scattering it across polished volcanic stone.
+Inside, the lobby is a beautifully told lie. Polished hull panels and mirrored partitions break your reflection into a dozen versions of yourself, each tinged with pulsating neon light. The floor is made of sheet steel hidden under thick carpet. A concierge desk—obviously made from a ship's wall—stands under warm lamps, and somewhere above you, an elevator groans as it carries another happy soul up through the stacked floors.
-A velvet-draped lobby stretches ahead: concierge desks with velvet-lined tops, a grand staircase rising toward higher floors, and a side hall that opens into a gleaming gambling hall. A piano in the corner sketches a slow, expensive melody while [[butler_bots|Butler Bots]] slip through the crowd with silver trays — drinks, chips, and very selective invitations.
+A piano plays something slow and expensive. Butler robots glide by with silver trays—drinks, chips, invitations that aren't really invitations. Guests wear their best coats and cautious smiles, as if this tower weren't held together by rivets, greed, and geothermal steam.
-The guests are dressed in their finest: tailored coats, glittering fabrics, careful smiles. Sharp-eyed security watches from the edges, hands folded, doing nothing — and missing nothing.
+Security guards stand at the edges, hands folded, faces calm.
-This isn’t just a hotel. It’s a hunting ground for people with money, secrets… or both.
+They are not here to protect you.
+They are here to decide what you are worth.
