===== Look and Feel ===== ===== Look and Feel =====

-New Kourou Primary and High School  sits firmly within the tangle of a booming, improvisational towncape built from salvaged hull plates and bio‑plastic panels of the Last Frontier. In perpetual twilight, the canopy overhead drips with humidity and the air is thick with the musk of wet foliage, orchids, and fungi. Through the translucent roof panels and large recycled‑composite windows, you catch flickers of unpaved walkways and the Last Frontier University building. Inside, the scent of warm timber from the biomass stove mingles with the earthy tang of rain‑soaked soil tracked in on students’ boots, and the faint hiss of steam rising from the rainwater‑recycling pipes provides a soft undercurrent beneath every lesson. +The school looks as improvised as it is. To ensure that the settlers' children did not fall behind, a temporary campus was quickly set up after the crash landing to enable lessons to begin as soon as possible, despite the adverse conditions. However, the difficult conditions do not seem to affect the children at school. During breaks, they play, scream, and romp around just like children once did on Earth, 102 light-years away.

-Outside, the gravel play yard has been repurposed into a jungle‑gym hybrid: twisted metal frames from old cargo crates form climbing structures draped in vines, and hollowed‑out sections of Last Frontier hull serve as tunnels and forts. Children scamper across makeshift rope bridges woven between support beams. A patched‑together membrane ball is kicked around between salvaged scaffold poles, and small groups race handcrafted wheeled carts—once transport modules on the Last Frontier—down shallow chutes lined with recycled decking planks. When the Maintenance Bot hums by, its soft blue indicator light glints off wet metal surfaces, and the kids give chase through the maze of upcycled obstacles.+
