   * **Waste Trench:** A covered compost pit runs beneath the raised flooring—grated panels allow scraps to fall through, then air-filtered vents suppress odors.
+===== Look and Feel =====
+The Food Market thrums beneath New Kourou’s perpetual violet twilight: lanterns strung on braided cables sway over raised decking of salvaged shuttle panels, casting flickers on mismatched hull-plating walls. Service Bots glide between ox-sized pack-mounts loaded with grain sacks, while courier drones circle overhead like metallic birds. Stallholders in patch-worked aprons call out today’s specials—fresh Zelor sourdough, steaming eel skewers, or tart Nulberry tarts — against the backdrop of the fountain’s soft burble and the clatter of wooden carts. Settlers in stained-leather boots haggle over price-card tokens, children dart between legs chasing courier bots, and every breath carries a heady mix of baking dough, citrus zest, and briny river smoke.
+===== Roles and Responsibilities =====
+  * **Market Master (ExoHuman):** Grants and revokes stand licenses, enforces pricing caps, adjudicates vendor disputes, and coordinates weekly clearance of unsold goods.
+  * **Stand Owners (12):** Each Owner (or Owner-Group) operates one stall — sourcing produce and setting their daily offers.
+  * **Cleaning Bot (1):** The [[cleaning_bots|Cleaning Bot]] cleans the aisles, sweeping raised decks, sanitizing counters, and triggering the compost-pit grate to clear food scraps.
+===== Public Access & Operations =====
+  * **Hours of Operation:** Daily 06:00–18:00 — all stalls shutter and sails retract at dusk per municipal ordinance.
+  * **Price Inspections:** The Market Master audits price-card integrity every Friday.
 ===== Security Measures =====
@@ Line 69: / Line 85: @@
 **Legal**
-Sample every grain loaf in search of hidden farm-grade codes
+  * Browse and purchase fresh produce, meats, and baked goods using [[Kourou|Kourou]]
-Broker a bulk purchase of Tandora juice for a celebratory feast
+  * Haggle stall prices within permitted trade margins
-Assist Potter’s Provisions in perfecting a new Mirel Leaf recipe
+  * Place special orders (bulk grain sacks, smoked eel crates) for later pickup
+  * Sample small tasters at vendor counters before committing to a full purchase
 **Illegal**
   * Slip contraband spices into Nulberry jams for black-market sale
-  * Tamper with price tags at Fencepost Brews to sow chaos

   * Steal a key from the Market Master to give a rival stand an edge
 ===== Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters =====
-Use the Food Market as a nexus of commerce and intrigue—traders pushing frontier rations, Individualist agitators whispering rebellion in crowd shadows, and Guarding Troopers watching for under-the-table exchanges. A missing allotment card could spark a manhunt through the stalls; a poisoned batch of Helik granola bars might threaten mass illness; or a midnight raid to reclaim smuggled Hoo cheese could turn into a furious chase across the Public Services Ring.
