102 Pen and Paper Adventure
PLAYABLE BETA AGE CHARACTERS
Introduction
All officially released Beta Age adventures of One Hundred and Two Lightyears Away take place under the umbrella of the Office for Special Operations (OfSO).
Founded in September 2626 by Ezrah Scherkenstein and headquartered in New Kourou, the OfSO operated as a lean, ledger-driven private investigation bureau serving the settlements of the Asari and Ralar Regions. Its mandate included discreet investigations, cold-case work, covert surveillance, fugitive tracking, and protective escort missions. Although the OfSO lacked formal authority, a quiet information exchange existed between Ezrah and a small circle of Guarding Troopers.
Officially dissolved in 2631, the network persists informally into the Gamma Age — hidden behind botany covers, borrowed desks, and old connections. Because the OfSO relied primarily on short-term operatives rather than permanent staff, all playable Beta Age characters are freelancers hired on a contract basis. Their motivations differ. Their loyalties are loose. Their skills are anything but ordinary.
