The FCSC was conceived as the keystone of the FCS’s lean business model: instead of tying up capital in bricks, mortar, and mechanics, the carrier outsourced every station-side function to a dedicated partner. Larry David supplied frontier know-how and personal savings; the FCS supplied traffic volume—and both parties shared the profits.

From day one the Firetown Courier Station Company handled everything that happened inside Firetown’s walls. Carts rolled in from the icy Extended Trade Route; FCSC crews unloaded, inspected, refueled, and warehoused the cargo while NKCS-built carts received light maintenance.
The firm also ran the town’s inbound-logistics loop, collecting finished goods from local foundries and merchant stalls, then staging them in the central warehouse for the dawn convoy. This “white-glove” service freed the Firetown Courier Service to focus strictly on long-haul delivery.

Because it was the only commercial depot in Firetown, the station doubled as a drop-off / pick-up hub for independent Free State Courier Riders shuttling mail and parcels up from the Dark-Side hinterland. Riders paid a modest handling fee; townsfolk enjoyed same-day delivery without trekking to the Twilight border.
