FEDERAL POTTERY (FP)
Overview
* **Location:** Town Center, Hope
* **Address:** East Northern Crossroad 2
* **Surroundings:** Adjacent to the Federal Beverages Manufactory

The Federal Pottery (FP) is the Federal Confederation’s centralized ceramics works, operated by the Federal Allotment Agency (FAA). It produces the standardized Federal Dish Set for universal issue to citizens and for service in Federal Canteens, workplace cafeterias, and school kitchens. Output and distribution align with Peace Treaty sustainability mandates and low-energy practice.

Architectural Significance
* **Construction Materials:** Local fieldstone plinths, timber post-and-beam, mycelium-brick infill; kiln chimneys in refractory brick.
* **Floors:** 2 levels (production ground floor; testing/offices upper) plus a service yard.
* **Design Aesthetic:** Cleanable bays laid out wheel → racks → kilns → glazing → packing in a single pass; covered walkways and a small courtyard garden.
* **Lighting (No Electric High-Bays):** Clerestories and light wells tuned for ambient twilight; after-hours, hooded oil lamps and baseboard Luminofera dualis runs.
* **Ventilation / Acoustic Control (Passive):** Ridge vents at kilns, cross-breeze louvers at drying bays, cork baffles; no powered HVAC.
* **Energy Use (Low-Draw):** Kilns fired by district biogas/charcoal mix; hand/foot-powered wheels; analog gauges; rain-catch cisterns for wash water.

Building Structure
**Ground Floor (Production)**
* **Clay Intake & Body Prep:** Pug mill (hand/foot drive), wedging benches, reclaim tubs.
* **Throwing / Pressing Bay:** Pottery wheels, jigger/press tables, gauge sticks.
* **Drying Racks Hall:** Stickered shelves, airflow louvers, moisture boards.
* **Kiln Room (Bisque & Glaze):** Two refractory updraft kilns with biogas/charcoal fireboxes; kiln carts, tongs, cones.
* **Glaze Room:** Mix benches, sieves, test tiles, splash curb; food-safe formulations only.

* **Patterns & Stamps Library:** Master molds, dies, and pattern ledgers under lock.
* **Offices & Records:** Orders, allotment logs, shift rosters, FAA correspondence.
* **Break Room:** Tea stove, benches, first-aid cabinet.

**Yard & Grounds**
* **Materials Yard:** Clay bins under tarp, grog barrels, crate timber.
* **Rain Cisterns & Wash Bay:** Greywater separation; mop sink.
* **Courtyard Garden:** Herbs/veg for staff meals; drying line for linens.

Look and Feel
Damp clay and woodsmoke mingle under clerestories. Wheels thrum; wire-cutters sing; rows of bowls dry to a leather sheen. Kiln cones glow behind firebox doors while ledgers tally batches beside straw-lined crates. No hum of motors—just foot treadles, hand tools, steady Lumi bands after hours, and quiet voices working to the rhythm of the kilns.

Products
The Federal Dish Set is a standardized crockery set integral to ExoHuman daily life and the Confederation’s equity goals. ===== Player Interaction Possibilities (Legal and Illegal) =====
**Legal interactions:**
* Receive a GAIA assignment as potter’s aide, glaze runner, kiln loader, QA clerk, or packing hand.
* Deliver sealed crates to canteens/schools (as FCS crew) or return damaged sets for reclaim.
* Assist with a supervised guild/academy tour and QA demonstration.

**Illegal interactions:**
* Forge crate seals or allotment manifests to divert dish sets.
* Contaminate glaze bins or swap master stamps to create counterfeit runs.
* Smuggle contraband in lidded storage jars bound for canteens.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
* **Adventure Hook — The Shattered Seal:** On the morning of a district rollout, QA flags hairline cracks across an entire lot — every piece bears a perfect but counterfeit stamp. The real master stamp is missing, and a crate is already en route to a canteen. Fearing a sabotage campaign, the Sheriff deputizes the PCs to audit stamp logs, intercept the bad crate, and smoke out the forger before counterfeitware floods the Allotment Center …
