FEDERAL GARBAGE COLLECTION CENTER OF HOPE
Overview
* **Location:** Town Center of Hope
* **Address:** W Southern Crossroad 2
* **Surroundings:** Adjacent to the Federal Organic Waste Recycling Plant of Hope.

The Federal Garbage Collection Center (FGCC) of Hope is a standardized state-run facility operated under the Federal Allotment Agency in the Gamma Age. As the settlement’s intake, weighing, sorting, and redistribution hub within the Federal Waste & Recycling System (FWRS), it anchors Hope’s circular material flows.

Operating within Communardism, the FGCC prioritizes resource circularity, ultra-low energy draw, and minimal environmental impact. In the Gamma Age’s persistent material shortage, recycled feedstock from Hope is strategic for construction, tools, textiles, and soil amendments. Sorted outputs are routed to federal processing plants via the Federal Courier Service under tasking by GAIA. No direct public drop-off; citizens use neighborhood collections and municipal routing.

Architectural Significance
* **Construction Materials:** Local stone buttresses and timber trusses, stitched with salvaged alloy plates/fasteners; ship-deck offcut (of the Last Frontier) flooring.
* **Floors:** 1 + small mezzanine office gallery.
* **Design Aesthetic:** Agrarian utility hall — solid walls with high vents, broad doors for cart traffic; clear zone color banding.
* **Lighting (Perpetual Twilight; No Electric High-Bays):** Sawtooth clerestories and prismatic light wells harvest constant skyglow; hooded oil lamps and baseboard Luminofera dualis runs provide even, low-draw illumination in deep zones and during low-sky periods.
* **Ventilation / Odor Control (Passive):** Cross-flow via wall vents and ridge slots; charcoal/compost biofilter beds at exhaust points.

Building Structure
**Ground Floor (Process Hall & Yard)**
* **Gate & Weighbridge:** Deputy-controlled entry; analog tickets; tare/gross logging for FCS carts and municipal loads.
* **Intake Bays (3):** Mixed/organics, bulky/wood, and e-waste; spill kits and fire-sand stations.
* **Primary Sorting Line:** Gravity hoppers, roller tables, permanent-magnet rakes (no eddy-current), manual pick stations; hand-crank transfer wheels between bays.
* **Secondary Line:** Organics/textiles refinement; manual screw-jack balers and lever compactors (no electric drives).
* **Hazard Cage:** Locked enclosure for paints/solvents/acids; neutralization drums; countersigned analog logbook.
* **Staging Apron:** Palletized bales/skips awaiting dispatch to federal plants.

**Mezzanine (Control & Admin)**
* **Operations Gallery:** Overlooks lines; analog boards + GAIA terminal for throughput stats.
* **Administrative Nook:** Plant Manager desk, FWRS records locker.
* **Staff Facilities:** Locker alcove, wash-up, small break bench.
* **Restrooms (2):** Staff W.C.s with the AuroraSan System near stair core.

**Perimeter & Yard**
* **Perimeter Wall:** 3 m stone wall enclosing the yard and hall doors.
* **Outbound Lanes:** Marked lanes to the local FOWRP; long-haul bay for New Kourou consignments and wood transfers to Federal Wood Plant (Morningstar).
* **Stormwater & Leachate Traps:** Grated channels to biofilter sumps; inspection hatches.

Look and Feel
Patchwork, but disciplined. Dressed stone meets salvaged alloy gussets; ship-deck offcuts form the aisleways; cargo-net screens guard catwalks. Twilight sheets in through clerestory slots; after dusk, oil lamps and Luminofera bands keep a steady, low-draw glow. Everything runs on*exohuman + gravity mechanics — roller clatter, chute scrape, hand-jack balers; no powered belts or fans. FWRS pictograms and zone bands (green = organics, blue = recyclables, red = hazmat) overlay faint shipyard stencils. Orderly, repeatable, energy-aware—built from second lives and farm-tough materials.

Player Interaction Possibilities (Legal and Illegal)
**Legal interactions:**
* GAIA work assignment to a sorting line, HazMat watch, or weighbridge during a surge week.
* Run or attend a citizen workshop on proper e-waste preparation to reduce line jams.
* Transport / Deliver Garbage as Trash-Tony.

**Illegal interactions:**
* Skim precious-metal scrap from e-waste depop bins or swap bale tags.
* Forge weighbridge tickets to misroute high-value bales to a black-market yard.
* Stage a spill to access the HazMat cage during emergency confusion.

Tactical Advice for Dungeon Masters
* **Adventure Hook — Pieces in the Bale:** During off-load at the local Garbage Collection Center, a Trash-Tony bale ruptures — spilling exohuman body parts. The Federal Sheriff seals the floor and deputizes the PCs to investigate discreetly. Trace the custody chain (gate ledgers, route tickets, seal stamps), retrace the cart’s loop, and interview the paired Trash-Tonis and line crew …
